TV and Film Goes Retro

Retro TV

You don’t have to look very far these days to see that the world of TV and film has gone retro. From movies like The Help, to television series including Mad Men, and the upcoming series Pan Am, it seems we’re all taking a glimpse back to years gone by, and feeling just a wee bit nostalgic.

Man Men

The four-time Emmy Award winning cable series Mad Men is set in the 1960s. The show revolves around the lives of the men and women of the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce Advertising Agency, which is led by the ruthless leading ad man and playboy, Don Draper.

The Help

Based on the NY Times best-selling novel of the same name, The Help is also set in the 1960s,  and explores the unlikely friendship of three very different women who dare to challenge the rules and stereotypes of a racially charged civil rights era Mississippi.

Fasten your seat belts and prepare for takeoff, because this Sunday  Pan Am will once again take flight. The new ABC series will focus on the glitz, glamour and adventure that once took place at 30,000 feet.

So, what do you think about all the retro movies and shows on TV now? Do you watch Mad Men? Have you had a chance to see The Help? Are you looking forward to Pan Am? Let us know!
