Caption Contest

It’s been awhile since we have had a contest to give you, our fans, a chance to win a Retro 51 fine writing instrument. We are thankful for the many fans and friends we have made over the years, so this is our way of giving back to you. To win all you have to do is follow these rules:

  1. Enter a caption (comment below) for the cartoon below.
  2. An email must be linked to the entry so we can contact you if you win.
  3. One entry per person (all other entries will be discarded)
  4. Contest ends at 8:00 AM Monday, August 24th, 2015

That’s it, just give us your best caption for the cartoon drawn by our summer intern Luke. The winner will have a chance to win one of the new Tornado designs below. The Retro 51 team will choose our three favorite captions and notified by email.

Which one is your favorite?

Safari (Tortoise) desk set pen, Minnie Mouse BP from the Mickey Mouse & Friends Collection

Do you regret not buying a Retro product that is now gone/discontinued?

Yes, the Scripmaster Series II Twist Ballpoint in Tortoise. Such a beautiful pen!

Image

What is the next one you want to buy?

I love the new Snapper design that is coming out this Spring, can’t wait to get it!
Image

What has been your pen of choice lately? Why?

The black Hex-o-matic ballpoint because I like the slimmer grip and lighter weight.

Image

Rollerball, fountain, ballpoint or pencil?

Ballpoint because I grip my pens very close to the tip and the easy-flow works best with my writing style.

Retro fans: what is your favorite pen in Jennifer’s collection? Comments?

Caption Contest II Winner!

Image

Congratulations to Dujuan J. on his winning caption! There were several clever comments that we liked, but we narrowed it down to Dujuan’s caption which referenced our tagline. We were also impressed with Dujuan’s self correction when he reposted “you’re” instead of “your,” because good grammar is always a plus for members of our marketing team. Congratulations and good job Dujuan!

Write me to the moon!

The winning entry in our caption contest… congratulations Mary. We loved the simplicity of the saying in combination with a twist on a Frank Sinatra lyric… good job.
